Bam-Bou is a Chinese restaurant in Karachi, Pakistan located in a vicinity of Sindhi Muslim Co-operative Housing Society. They mainly serve Chinese in-addition to few seafood items.
WHAT'S IN THE MENU?
For starters, they have soup and appetizers. The main course section consists of a variety of poultry, beef, prawns and fish items. What you're ordering from the main course will only include curry/manchurian/sashlik, etc and this section does not include rice, ( I mean to say only the curry and no rice) for that you'll have to order rice separately from its own section. Their menu also has a section for sizzlers, which is basically a curry served on a sizzling platter. Chow mein and chop suey noodles are also on their menu. Sadly, they don't have much of a variety of mocktails, only a few ones, mostly limes and coolers. I'm personally a big fan of mocktails, so from their small list, it took me a while to decide which one to order. They also have few shakes, smoothies, hot and cold coffees. In the end, they have some fancy tea on their menu.
AMBIANCE?
So, a few days back, me and my friend were craving for Chinese food. After hearing some good reviews we hit the floor and arrived Bam-Bou for lunch. As it was a lunchtime, the restaurant was empty only one table was occupied and it gradually becomes filled with people from college, university, and offices. For me, this time is the best time in all day as there are few people in daytime and restaurants are more peaceful as compared to night time. The ambiance was lit and the place was way more calming than I expected. We took a corner table and sat on their comfy chairs. They have this greenery in one corner with a little fountain in it, producing the sound of dripping water which was really mind-relaxing. I totally loved the ambiance and just because of it I wanted to stay a little longer.
DOES FOOD TASTED REALLY GOOD?
Now coming to food, first, they served their complementary fish crackers, which was like any other ordinary cracker. As we were craving for some really good soup, we ordered chicken corn soup. For me, I didn't like the soup at all. It was not that hot and it had a lot of chicken pieces in it like it was getting difficult to sip of the soup. After completing our soup, we ordered their special yum yum chilli chicken from their main course, vegetable fried rice from rice section and chicken chow mein. Order arrived in 15 to 20 minutes. The quantity was really good. As we were only two people, so it was a lot for us. Yum yum chilli chicken was really good with a perfect blend of spices, sauces, chicken, veggies, pineapple and cherry on the top. Honestly, cherry and pineapple tasted so well. Chow mein tasted fine, not something extraordinary. In the end, we had to ask the waiter to pack the leftover because we weren't able to eat that all.

Sparkling Lime Cooler |
I ordered from mocktails section, Sparkling Lime Cooler and to be honest, I have never tasted such an amazing lime drink anywhere. It was an amazing blend of citrus with mint and ice. It was really refreshing I wanted to order another one but had no space left in my stomach. I loved this drink.
My friend ordered All-berry Smoothie, it was okayish, just an ordinary berry smoothie.
Their service was a bit slow, but it was fine. The waiter asked us about the food twice, if it's fine or not. Overall, it was an average experience.
